My project in ETEC 644:Design and Development of Instructional Material II

Reflection: In ETEC 644 class, I am more in-depth to learn how to design a teaching course in limited time. I already gained some experience from previous course, like ETEC 543 (which is a group project). At this time, I have to create the instructional material by myself started from "Analysis" phase till the end of "Evaluation" phase.During the whole process, the thing I enjoyed the most is to learn how to use google site to develop a resources website. I haven't use Google Site before I attended to this course. The functions are quite simple and easy to navigate. I think it's a great platform for any of us who want to develop a website as a beginner. The most challenge thing for me is that I am not a professional in job-hunting. Since I am an international student, I am not experienced in finding a job in the US. But I still want to create professional website like the other resource website. Afterward, I decided to create a website that is mainly focus on the student who has no experience in job-hunting in the US. I think that is more suited for my current situation. But I still want to target people with different level of experience and knowledge, and I will keep developing my website later on. According to what I have learned in this course, I enjoyed in the ADDIE process because it helps me to organize my thought and develop my instruction step by step. I won't missing any important stage by following the instructional model. The most important skill that I learned from this course is how to conduct a formative evaluation. I understated that how important to utilize the formative evaluation to get feedback form expert and learner. Without the opinion and suggestion, I won't be able revise the instruction and achieve the instructional goal. All in all, I will keep developing this job-hunting resource website in order to help more and more international student to find the job successfully in the US. I will keep using ADDIE model to create quality instructional materials that can fit learners with different level of knowledge and different background.

Goal: To help Educational Technology international student to locate their ideal job which align with their academic background.

Target audience: International student who need to find a job in the US after graduated from Instructional Technology program.

Formative Evaluation: I chose expert review and One-to-One as my formative evaluation method for this project. I received feedback from career center advisor and Instructional Technology program professor. Both of them gave very helpful idea and revision suggestion. Also, I conducted a Likert-scale survey with 8 students in different level of experience. Most of them felt very satisfied with this learning project and willing to keep using the website for future job-hunting.
